  • Student Voice- Ms Snider
    • Showed T shirt, club has 48 students, students feel like they belong to something
    • Students have to return shirts by the end of the year, so students can wear them next year
    • Making SV playlist, bracelets
    • Upcoming Event:
    • Green Day just before St Patrick's Day
    • March 26th Movie Night
    • Junior Dance for Grade4/5/6,
    • Last Intermediate Dance for Gr. 7-8
    • Glimmer Games for 7-8’s
    • Intermediate Cafe
    • Board Games Night - April 16th
      • By invitation only, child has to have gone to the lunchtime board games at least once for an invite
      • Invitations out after March Break
    • Intermediate Badminton running with Mr.Blair
      • Possible Junior Team coming

Financial Updates:

  • No new approved investments from last month. Total expenditures stand at $38,363.41 for the school year
  • 2025-26 Year Opening balance $43,920
  • Remaining funds available for year $5,557
  • 2025 BBQ expense $7,200
  • Possible 2026BBQ budget is $7,500
    • $5,557 coming from remaining funds with a possible additional $2,000 from lunch program if needed)
    • Hot lunch
      • Sessions 1 - 3 profit $21,974
      • Session 4 in progress, all sales in, invoices to come
      • Kids Kitchen has returned a profit of $511 as of now
      • Current Account Balance $51,369 - expected to decrease significantly as Session 4 invoices are to be received and paid
      • Last year, in March2025 balance was $24,244 but cycle is different this year so not comparing apple to apples
      • Decision made to keep lunch pricing the same for this year, and revisit for next year
    • Booster Juice issues are resolved
      • Not profitable, but a good healthy option
      • Next year maybe return as a Council initiative, rather than a Grad fundraiser

  • Session 6: Monday - Kids Kitchen, Tuesday - Pizza, Wednesday - Astoria, Thursday - Yamato, Friday - Little Duck
  • Keep pricing the same as is, raise in September

Final Decision to cancel or go a head with BBQ to be made at next council (April 13th)

Grade 8 Graduation

  • Fundraising $11,108 YTD, still need to pay some invoices
  • Have a number of programs still to run
  • Overall in good shape
 

Pick up/Dropoff Safety Blitz

  • 4-5 volunteers to do the safety blitz in April, Wednesday the 8th, in the morning
 

Movie Night

  • March 26th - Movie TBD
  • Run by Student Voice
 

Teacher Appreciation Lunch

  • Emailed Mustache Burger vendor, same price, waiting on menu
  • Communication in May
  • Good with date, June 17th
 

Charity/Donation Drive

  • N/A
 

Other Ideas/Suggestions:

  • Thoughts for next year Paint Night or Bingo Night
  • Bingo Night is considered gambling, so would need Lion’s Club as a sponsor. Should consider having prizes.
 

Next Meeting: April 13, 2026 (hybrid)

The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members.
